Moulis are a great way to easily create perfect mashed potatoes, vegetables, pureed fruit and vegetables, jams/jellies, sauces, soups, compotes, tomato puree and even apple sauce. There's no need for electricity, the mill gently pushes your chosen food through the holes, getting all the nutrients from the skins without aerating the food. This process allows the food to retain it's colour while leaving all skins, pips and fibres behind for a smooth consistency.
The Tilly3 Food Mill comes complete with three interchangeable stainless steel discs with different perforations for varying textures. The coarse disc essentially grates the food, and is perfect for denser cooked vegetables, or soft uncooked fruits such as banana or papaya, where some texture in the food is desired. The medium disc is ideal for creamy mashed potatoes, vegetable purees and straining soups. The fine disc is great for de-seeding cooked tomatoes and making fine purees and jellies, as well as baby food.
